Registration for Westbrook Little League's 2018 Fall Ball Season is now open!

There will be two levels of fall ball offered: 10U and 12U.  Fall Ball ages are based on the 2019 Little League age chart (see chart here), which goes into effect on 9/1/18.

10U is for players who will be "baseball age" 9-10 years old during the 2019 little league season, meaning players who will turn 9 or 10 years of age between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019 are eligible to play.  8 year olds (turning 8 between the above dates) may play with permission from the league.

Fall 10U is a full kid-pitch level equivalent to spring AAA, although played in a more relaxed, "sandlot" format with skills development being the focus over competition.

12U is for players who will be "baseball age" 11-12 years old during the 2019 little league season, meaning players who will turn 11 or 12 years old between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019 are eligible.

League age 10 year olds (turning 10 between the above dates) may play up with permission from the league and ONLY as long as it does not affect the number of players on the 10U team (e.g. leaving them with not enough for a team).  In the event that there is low interest and only a handful of players signed up for 10U we will consider taking them up to the 12U level, as has been done before.

Naturally, here in Westbrook with our low numbers everything is tricky and has been difficult to work out, this year especially.

We are openly looking to take in a few players from neighboring towns as well as not everyone will have enough players interested to form complete teams, so sign up asap, registration ends on August 25 so that we can begin practices.

Games & Practices:

The season runs from the week following Labor Day until the end of October and games are played on both Saturdays and Sundays each week (one game on each day), with practices held during the week.  We will look to roster 13-14 players per team so that some players wishing to play ball and do fall travel soccer can afford to miss a game here or there due to weekend schedule conflicts.  Due to Park & Rec soccer at Ted Lane field, most Saturday games will be played in the afternoon.

Practices will be held on weeknights once or twice a week and tend to get shorter as the season goes on and the days get shorter.

Home games will be played in Westbrook, and away games will be played against most or all of the following towns: Guilford, Madison, Clinton, Old Saybrook, Essex, Deep River, North Branford and Durham.

The league will hold a random-draw tournament to cap the season, final records will not weight into seeding.

Players who register should wear their Spring 2018 jerseys and new hats are being printed.  Coaches will give out pants to those players who need new ones.

Questions? Email fall ball coordinators Fred Franco (ffranco714@comcast.com) or Kevin Blair (kblairwll@gmail.com) or the WLL general inbox at westbrooklittleleague.org@gmail.com.

As always, we'll be looking for volunteers to help out with the fall season... umpires, help coaching and concessons.
